New Forest Manor
in the New Forest
INKSPACE Architects have been working alongside the client and a number of specialist consultants, to restore and extend this beautiful home in the heart of the New Forest National Park.
Previously owned by the same family for over 60 years, our clients purchased this wonderful house in 2017. Since then, we have been working together, towards a design that has both restored and extended the current accommodation, upgrading it to a modern family home.
The Grade II Listed building is set within 30 acres of natural forest and paddocks, adding to the charm of this historic building. The brief from the client, alongside the wishes of the Local Authority, has always been to carefully renovate this characterful home, and to restore it to its former glory, ensuring its life for many more years to come. We have also added two new contemporary extensions, sympathetically linked to the main house by two glass links.
Planning Approval and Listed Building Consent was granted in Spring 2020 for the works to the main house and new outbuildings and works commenced on site during Summer 2020. The works were completed in December 2022.
“We have been working with INKSPACE for the past 4 years on two projects in the New Forest National Park. They have been instrumental in gaining us Listed Building Consent for the refurbishment of our home, and for gaining Planning Permission for our new build pool house. They are always on hand to answer any queries and every member of the team is friendly, knowledgeable and easy to work with. As we approach the completion of our projects, we would not hesitate to recommend them to others looking for an Architect, especially for those in need of specific knowledge on Listed Buildings, Conservation Areas and for building within the National Park”.
